Pacific Northwest Barcode ServicesBy placing an order with PACIFIC NORTHWEST BARCODE SERVICES, customer agrees to be bound by the following TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
Pacific Northwest Barcode Services supplies Custom Barcode images as an industry
standard .EPS file by email or laser printed on high quality, extra heavy, hard,
white paper, and camera ready. Image files are delivered as an attached file
to an email message. By placing an order for delivery by email, customer acknowledges
their responsibility to ensure their email system is properly configured to receive
email sent to the address specified on the order documentation, and that attached
files of this type will be accepted. Pacific Northwest Barcode Services is known
for providing flexible, helpful service, yet we cannot accept responsibility
for customer's email system setup. Other delivery arrangements may be made,
at additional cost, however customer is obligated to
perform in good faith according to such arrangements.
GUARANTEE AND LIMITS OF LIABILITY: This
statement applies to all forms of barcodes made only and exclusively by our
shop. We guarantee machine readability only on barcodes we print. Every barcode
we make goes through a careful Quality Check prior to leaving our shop, but
errors do occasionally slip through. On all orders, and for all delivery
formats, the customer is the final checker, and by placing
an order, customer agrees to perform and be responsible for all consequences
of checking the final product. Customer agrees at time of placement of order
to verify the accuracy of the barcode(s) produced by PACIFIC NORTHWEST BARCODE
SERVICES within 24 hours of receipt and prior to using it for any purpose.
In event of any question arising about the Custom Barcode sent as a result
of this order, customer is required to telephone our Quality Department promptly
at 856.783.2714 and supply invoice number. Pacific Northwest Barcode Services
appreciates the magnitude and severity of reproduction of an incorrect
barcode and as a result, has designed its production and quality checking
process with multiple levels of review to force identification of erroneous
barcodes prior to their being released to our customers. As a result of this
extreme dilligence, the actual performance since 1993 when
the company was founded is ZERO DEFECTS and we intend to
keep it that way. Not withstanding all the foregoing, customer agrees that
since this multi-tier checking and validation process is of human origin
and thus cannnot be made perfect, and as such, agrees that errors actually
may be made and may actually be issued to customer. Thus, customer agrees
that any errors made are unintentional and further agrees that Pacific Northwest
Barcode Services total liability is limited to cheerfully and promptly providing
a replacement barcode at our expense. There are no refunds, and Pacific Northwest
Barcode Services shall not be obligated to replace a barcode which customer
does not promptly inspect within 24 hours of receipt and notify us of any
defects therein. If stickers are part of this order, customer bears full
responsibility for inspection of proofs, and if waived, thus agrees that
this guarantee does not apply to errors reproduced on stickers. Expediting
charges are at our cost and cannot be refunded. No other warranty is expressed
or implied. We accept no liability for consequential or special damages of
any kind or nature resulting from, but not limited to the use of a defective
product. We strive to be accurate but no guarantee is given for orders dictated
by telephone, or hand written orders sent by FAX if the letters and numerals
are not (in our opinion) clearly formed in black ink. There are no other
warranties expressed or implied which exceed beyond the warranty herein set
forth.
INFORMATION FOR CHECKING: In an EAN-13 barcode, the first three digits "978" or
"979" signal the scanning software that the code is EAN-13 Barcode. In a 13
digit ISBN, or in a legacy 10 digit ISBN, or in a UPC-A numeric code, the last
digit of the ISBN or UPC-A number is a security cipher not relevant to the
assigned ISBN/UPC-A number
and is known as a Modulo Checksum Character
or Mod Check. The value of the Mod Check is mathematically derived from
a formula which uses the other numbers encoded in the symbol, and is often different
from the last digit of the ISBN or UPC-A number from which it is derived.
PRICE CODING: For
books, the first digit "5" in
the price code specifies that the following four digits are to be interpreted
as United States dollars and cents. Thus the maximum price possible to encode
is $99.99 and since PRICE CODES are OPTIONAL, books priced above this figure
simply do not include the PRICE CODE EXTENSION.
We appreciate your trust and your business.
